The Dipartimento di Matematica e Informatica of the University of Trieste and the Institut für Technische Mathematik, Geometrie und Bauinformatik of the University of Innsbruck in collaboration with the Centro Culturale Grandhotel Dobbiaco - Kulturalzentrum Grandhotel Toblach are organizing a Summer School on "Numerical Methods for Evolution Equations"  in Dobbiaco (Bolzano - Italy) in the period June 28 - July 2, 2004.

The school is held within the INTERREG Project
Nachdiplom Aus - und Weiterbildung für Doktoranden und Forscher im Bereich innovativen Prozesse des "Wissenschaflichen Rechnens" - Aufbau eines Ausbildungs - und Forschungsnetzes zwischen den Universitäten von Innsbruck, Triest, Udine und Bozen - Projekt kofinanziert im Rahmen der Gemeinschaftsinitiative INTERREG IIIA Italien-Österreich mit Mitteln der Europäischen Union und des Ministeriums für Infrastrukturen und Transporte.

The school is partially supported by the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica - Gruppo Nazionale di Calcolo Scientifico.

In line with the previous editions, the aim of the School is to introduce young researches to prominent topics of recent development in Numerical Analysis.

The participants are assumed to have a basic knowledge of numerical methods for ordinary differential equations.

The School consists of two series of lectures. The invited speakers are:

Alexander Ostermann, Institut für Technische Mathematik, Geometrie und Bauinformatik, Universität Innsbruck - Austria

Jan G. Verwer, Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica (CWI) - The Netherlands
